The UC pricing is not automatic. In order to receive UC pricing, you MUST pay with a recharge number or recharge-account string. All payments that are not made on a recharge basis will have a NUD deducted by central accounting as they base this only on the source of funding, not the PI providing the funding.
We currently offer the following services:
PCR based genotyping, by Quantitative PCR and traditional Diagnostic PCR. Quantitative PCR only detects marker genes. Diagnostic PCR can be construct specific or simply screen for an internal vector.
Embryonic Stem Cell screening of 96 well plates for homologous recombination
Southern Blot analysis (in development)
We do have an assay that will indicate zygosity in your mouse marker. Using the Relative Quantification (aka delta-delta Ct) Real-time PCR assay, we use a reference gene to obtain a baseline DNA quantity, then compare the level of the marker gene in relation to that reference gene. Currently we have assays for Cre, GFP (also works for YFP), and Neomycin. Since genetrap lines have a beta-galactosidase/neomycin fusion cassette, our Neomycin real time assay works on genetrap lines also, which is very helpful if the exact integration site is unknown, thus hindering the development of a site specific traditional PCR assay.
We do not currently have the ability to determine the integration site of BayGenomics genetrap lines. If you would like to be informed
